Journey to America

Our great-grandfather, Mansour, was born in Pittsburgh in 1885 and travelled back with his parents to Lebanon in 1911 where he resided until passing away in 1965. Our grandfather was going through his late father’s briefcase and came across a document in which he discovered was a birth certificate.

He later took it to the U.S. Embassy in Beirut where he was then told, “You and your brothers and sisters are United States Citizens”. Living in Lebanon at that time, there was no greater news.

They packed up and ventured to the United States. Each brother and sister then worked and helped each other to come to the U.S.
